Take the TRUST
If you are a recreational drone pilot you must take and pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) before you put your drone in the air. You must have your certificate of completion in your possession if asked for it by law enforcement, park ranger, etc.
Use Pilot Institute's free website to get your TRUST Certificate of Completion, which recreational flyers need to operate legally.
NOTE: To fly under The Exception for Recreational Flyers, you MUST:
Have a current registration
Fly only for recreational purposes
Follow the safety guidelines of a community-based organization
Keep your drone within your visual line of sight
Give way and do not interfere with any manned aircraft
Fly at or below 400’ in controlled airspace and only with prior authorization
Fly at or below 400’ in uncontrolled airspace
Comply with all airspace restrictions
Pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
